WHO NEEDS TO TAKE GST REGISTRATION?
All business –
- With turnover above the threshold limit of Rs. 20 Lakhs (Rs. 10 Lakhs for North-Eastern States, J&K, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand)
- who does inter state sale (i.e. sale outside the state)
- e-commerce operators.
- Casual taxable person / Non-Resident taxable person
- Agents of a supplier & Input service distributor
- Those paying tax under the reverse charge mechanism
TIME NEEDED FOR GST REGISTRATION
GST Registration takes almost 4-6 days time and can be done by filing Part A and Part B of GST Form GST REG-01. Although for firms (proprietorship and partnership etc), GST Form GST REG-01 can be filed with EVC i.e. However, in the case of companies, GST Form GST REG-01 can be filed only by using a digital signature certificate(DSC). Hence, DSC is mandatory for them.
Documents required for GST registration:
- PAN card of the proprietor/partners/directors
- Aadhar Card of the proprietor/partners/directors
- Proof of constitution like partnership deed, Memorandum of Association (MOA) /Articles of Association (AOA),
- Certificate of incorporation.
- Details and proof of place of business like rent agreement or electricity bill.
- Bank statement/ Cancelled Cheque.
- Digital signature certificate (DSC) in case of a company.
